What goes wrong

What the job involves

If you have a stuck cylinder on a metal storefront or a jammed mortise in an interior office door, we remove the cylinder plug to inspect the pin stacks and tumblers. Good to know
While we work you should secure any employees and customers away from the active door if it’s an exterior entry or an egress route, and if the problem affects an alarm or door prop, tell us how the door is normally used during business hours. Have a manager or keyholder available to confirm who should have access and to hand over any existing master or change keys. If there’s an access control panel, identify which reader and which power source is linked; if there are multiple keys, gather them so we can test each lock in sequence.
