What goes wrong
Homes call us when a deadbolt drags, a key snaps in the cylinder, a knob spins without catching, or a sliding door won’t engage its latch. We see doors that have shifted in their frame so the bolt misses the strike, rotted wood around the lock, hardened tumblers from years of use, and electronic locks with power or pairing problems. In Wyncote we handle the usual residential failures and the odd case where previous hardware was installed incorrectly and keeps causing trouble.

What the job involves
When we get on site we start by checking the door, the lock cylinder, the strike plate, and the key itself so we can choose the least invasive fix. We can rekey a cylinder, replace a worn lock, swap in a deadbolt with a longer throw, fit a reinforced strike, or extract a broken key and cut a new one on the truck. We drive out from Havertown with the tools and parts most residential jobs require and we’ll tell you when we can come after you call.

Good to know
While you wait, clear the area so we can work without moving furniture or removing screens, secure pets, and set any children somewhere safe. If you have a spare key or a recent photo of the lock, keep it handy; it helps us identify the cylinder type before we arrive. Lock other exterior doors and don’t try to force the problem; forcing a jammed cylinder can break things we’d otherwise avoid replacing. We’ll let you know when we can come and what to expect when we get there.
04
Worth knowing
Have a few things ready to speed the job once we arrive: the keys you normally use, proof that you live at the address if it’s required to show ownership, and the door’s handedness and material if you know it. Note any recent work on the door: has the frame been planed or a strike repositioned? If the house in Wyncote has a deadbolt and a separate knob, tell us which one is acting up. If you live near Glenside or elsewhere in Montgomery County, the same checklist applies; we bring the parts and tools we most commonly need for residential locks.
