What goes wrong
We handle the common failures that show up at home: a deadbolt that won’t turn because the bolt binds in the strike, a cylinder that spins when you try to lock, a knob set with a broken tailpiece, or a keyed entry that won’t accept a key because the bitting is worn. We pull cylinders, inspect the bolt and strike, replace worn pins or the whole cylinder, fit a reinforced strike or longer throw bolt where needed, and swap out knob and lever mechanisms if internal parts are broken. When you call from Towamencin Township we’ll explain what the likely fix is and tell you when we can come.

What the job involves
If you’re locked out we can make non-destructive entry whenever the lock and door allow, and we carry a range of replacement hardware for emergency installs: deadbolts, mortise cylinders, latch sets, and reinforced strike plates. For stuck or jammed doors we check the frame, hinges, and threshold as well as the lock, often the problem is a misaligned strike or swelling, not the cylinder itself. We drive out from Havertown and work on site; there’s no shop, so every service happens at the door.

Good to know
While you wait, have a form of photo ID and something that shows you live at the address, and where possible position yourself with a clear line of sight to the entry we’ll be working on. If there are pets, move them away from the work area; if there are children, keep them at a safe distance. If you have recent keys, bring them out so we can check wear patterns; if you own the home or are an authorized occupant, telling us that over the phone speeds the check-in when we arrive.

Worth knowing
For security upgrades in Towamencin Township we replace worn cylinder cores with new pin-and-tumbler cylinders, install longer-throw bolts, reinforce strikes and jambs with longer screws and mortise plates, and fit keyed or electronic deadbolts where homeowners want remote access. We rekey existing systems so one key fits multiple locks, and we can retrofit a smart lock to an existing single-cylinder deadbolt while keeping a mechanical backup. If you’re unsure what to have ready, ask when you call and we’ll describe the items we need for the job.
