What goes wrong
A stuck deadbolt, a key that snaps in the cylinder, or a front door that drags against the jamb are the kinds of calls we handle at homes in East Nantmeal Township. We see worn cylinder pins, rusted tailpieces, and strike plates that have pulled out of soft wood. Locksets and knob hardware fail in predictable ways: tumblers jam, retainers shear, or the latch retracts without the knob returning. We describe what’s wrong in plain terms and show the parts so you can see the wear and the repair path before we start work.

What the job involves
When we arrive we work from the curbside vehicle out of Havertown and bring the tools to do the job at your door. We inspect the cylinder, the bolt, the strike, the door edge, and the hinges, then recommend rekeying, cylinder replacement, or a new deadbolt with a longer throw and a reinforced strike as needed. We can remove snapped keys and replace or re-pin a cylinder on site, or fit a new lockset and adjust the strike and latch so the door closes and locks cleanly.

Good to know
While we work you should secure children and pets away from the entry, keep clear of the swing of the door, and have your photo ID and proof of residency ready if you want locks keyed to a household set. If a key is broken off, avoid trying to pull it out with pliers; that can push fragments deeper. If you can, gather any spare keys, original lock packaging, or previous hardware so we can match barrel sizes and screw patterns without guesswork.

Worth knowing
Have available the current keys, the door slab measurement if you know it, and any previous lock or cylinder you want matched or returned. If you want multiple doors keyed the same, bring all sample keys so we can cut and pin for a keyed-alike set. We carry common blanks and cutters for on-site cutting and can swap a worn knob for a lever or install a reinforced strike and longer screws into the frame. We work across Chester County, including nearby Wallace Township, and we’ll explain what we’re doing before we touch the lock.
