What goes wrong
Keys break off in cylinders, bolts stick, latches get pushed out of alignment and knobs seize. In emergency calls we see snapped keys in stuck cylinders, long-throw deadbolts that won’t retract, and doors that are swollen so the latch misses the strike. Sometimes an electronic lock has drained its battery or a keypad won’t accept the code. We work on the actual hardware: extracting broken key fragments, freeing seized bolts, easing swollen doors, and checking whether a cylinder can be reused or needs replacement.

What the job involves
When we arrive on site we start with a quick inspection of the door, frame and lock, then show you the issue and the options for getting back in. We cut new keys on the vehicle and carry cylinders, replacement knobs, and reinforced strike plates to fit on the spot. If a keyway is full of metal from a snapped key we extract the pieces before trying to pick or rekey; if the cylinder is damaged we swap it out and rekey so one key fits both old and new devices.

Good to know
While you wait, stay where you feel safe and keep children and pets away from the door you need opened. Have the door and lock clear of boxes or furniture so we can work without obstruction. If you have the original keys, bring them to the door or have them where we can see them; if a key broke off, try not to push on the broken piece. We drive out from Havertown and let callers know how soon we can get there so you aren’t left wondering.

Worth knowing
To speed things along, have a form of photo ID and some proof you live at the address ready when we arrive. Point out which lock is giving trouble and tell us any recent work done to the door or lock; for example a replacement strike plate, a new deadbolt, or a different hinge, because that affects how we approach the repair. We handle emergency entries and repairs throughout West Goshen Township and nearby areas like West Chester, and we keep the work on the lock itself straightforward and practical.
