What goes wrong
We handle emergency lockouts in East Bradford Township and surrounding parts of Chester County the same way we handle them anywhere: assess what failed, pick the least-destructive way to get you back inside, and then make the repair or replacement on the spot. Common failures are a snapped key lodged in a cylinder, a deadbolt thrown against a warped jamb, or a latch that no longer retracts because the mechanism has seized. We work on residential entry cylinders, mortise locks, tubular deadbolts, and reinforced commercial hardware, using picks, extractors, and power tools when the situation requires them.

What the job involves
If a key breaks off in a cylinder, we remove the plug or use an extractor to pull the fragment without damaging the surrounding metal, then test the remaining tumblers. When a deadbolt binds against a warped door, we check the bolt for a long throw or bevel wear and dress the strike or replace the bolt assembly as needed. For doors with rotted frames or compromised screws we fit longer screws into the jamb or install a reinforced strike so the repair holds under everyday use rather than look like a temporary fix.

Good to know
If a child, a pet or anyone who needs help is locked in the car, calling 911 comes first. While we drive out from Havertown, stay near the entrance but clear a workspace so we can set up tools and parts without crowding. We avoid forcing things open when a non-destructive option exists; that keeps the door, the frame, and the lock in better condition.
04
Worth knowing
Have ready a form of ownership or photo ID and, if possible, the existing key or key code for a keypad or electronic lock. If the door has a visible manufacturer label or a stamped code on the lock body, snap a quick photo and send it to us so we can bring the right parts. For electronic deadbolts bring the device’s battery type or any backup keys; for businesses, have an authorized contact available to approve changes to master keying or to accept hardware replacements. We carry common cylinders, replacement bolts, strike plates, and key blanks to get the job done at the door.
