What goes wrong
We handle emergency lockouts and broken hardware in West Caln Township and nearby areas. When a key snaps, a lock jams, or a deadbolt turns without engaging, we assess the cylinder, tailpiece and boltwork to decide whether to pick, extract the broken key, or remove the cylinder. For inward-opening doors we look at the latch and reinforced strike; for heavy exterior doors we check a long throw deadbolt and the door edge for binding. We drive out from Havertown and when you call we tell you how soon we can come.

What the job involves
If a child, a pet or anyone who needs help is inside, dial 911 before anything else. For non-medical lock emergencies, stay where you are if it’s safe: off the stairs, away from an open door in bad weather, and out of direct line of traffic.

Good to know
Have proof of ownership or authorization ready before we begin work: a photo of the property deed, rental agreement, or utility bill helps us confirm you have the right to request entry. Also have the brand or a photo of the lock if possible: keyed knob, mortise lock, rim cylinder, or a padlock with a hasp. If a key is broken in the lock, clear loose fragments from the mouth of the keyway and tell us whether the broken piece is visible; that can make extraction simpler. We carry blank keys, replacement cylinders and various core hardware.

Worth knowing
An emergency job can involve cutting out a seized cylinder, rekeying a lock, replacing stripped screws and reinforcing a strike plate to stop future failures. We work on stuck deadbolts, warped door edges and latch mechanisms corroded by weather. If you have a secondary lock or alarm panel, tell us so we can coordinate access without tripping anything unnecessarily. We can also fit a new cylinder or swap keys to match existing sets on site when the situation calls for it; we’ll explain the mechanical options and what each does for the door’s function.
