What goes wrong
Most emergency calls start the same way: a key broken off in a cylinder, a deadbolt jammed with a bent bolt, or a lock that no longer turns because water, dirt or a failed spring has seized the mechanism. We work on standard residential deadbolts, knob locks, mortise sets and vehicle ignitions and on heavy entry hardware like commercial lever handles and reinforced strikes. In West Sadsbury Township we will explain what failed, whether the cylinder can be extracted and reused, and what the clean, mechanical fix looks like before we start work.

What the job involves
When a lock has been forced or the door edge shows prying, the job is often replacing the bolt package, setting a new strike and fitting a fresh cylinder. We carry common cylinders, backup levers and replacement bolts for tubular and mortise locks and can rekey a lock to a different key on site if the cylinder is intact. If the latch is misaligned we adjust the strike and check the door frame for split wood or loose screws so the hardware can function as designed.

Good to know
If you call from West Sadsbury Township after a lockout, stay where you are and keep doors closed; if you’re locked out of a car, wait in a safe spot nearby. Have a photo ID and proof of ownership ready, and if possible bring any spare keys or the make and model information for the lock or vehicle. We will ask about the kind of key and the visible damage so we know whether to plan for extraction, replacement cylinder or a new keyed set when we come from Havertown.

Worth knowing
We do a lot of emergency repairs around Chester County and sometimes work in or near Atglen and Parkesburg when calls come from that direction. Our work is hands-on: cylinder extraction, drilling only when necessary, aligning bolts, cutting new keys and swapping out worn tumblers or cores. We explain the options (repair, rekey or replace) and show the actual parts we plan to use, like a solid brass cylinder or a forged heavy-duty deadbolt, so you know what the hardware will be and how it makes the door secure.
