The buildings and the hardware
The housing stock in and around the township affects the hardware we see. Many doors are solid wood with older single-cylinder deadbolts and private mortise locks, so we spend a lot of time fitting modern cylinders into older prep, reshimming strike plates, and addressing warped jambs. Where there are duplexes or small multi-family buildings, owners often have older knob locks that need conversion to more secure deadbolts or keyed-alike systems. Commercial entrances tend to use commercial-grade cylindrical locks or exit devices that require different tools and replacement parts than a typical residential installation.
