What the job involves
On site we start by identifying the lock type and the failure mode so we can choose the least destructive opening method. We use picks, long-reach tools, and designed entry tools to move levers or tumblers where possible; for broken keys we extract metal fragments with precision tools and clean the lock cylinder so a new key will seat properly. If the ignition cylinder is damaged we can remove it and replace the cylinder with one that accepts a cut key. When electronics are involved we check battery contacts and fob programming options that the vehicle supports.

Good to know
While we work, customers should stay safe and keep a clear area around the vehicle. Keep children and pets away from the doors and tools. If you’re present we can confirm which door is yours and which key set belongs with the vehicle. Please avoid trying improvised methods that can bend linkages or break the glass; letting us use the right tool reduces the chance of secondary damage.

Worth knowing
Have a few items handy before we arrive so we can finish without back-and-forth: a valid photo ID and the vehicle registration, the exact make, model, year, and color, and any spare key, fob, or key code you keep. If you know whether the fob recently needed a battery, tell us that; if you keep a valet or emergency key, point it out. We travel from Havertown and serve Chester County areas including West Caln Township and nearby Sadsburyville when callers ask for help, and having these documents and details ready speeds the work and keeps everything correct.
