What goes wrong
Keys break in the cylinder, bolt tongues shear, or a thumbturn jams at the worst moment; those are the calls we get as emergency locksmiths in Aldan. We cut broken keys out of pin-and-tumbler locks, extract snapped shanks from deadbolts, and rekey cylinders when keys are lost. We also deal with rim locks, mortise locks, and panic bars on commercial doors. When a latch has been forced, we check the strike and jamb and tell you whether repair or replacement will give a secure fit.

What the job involves
When we arrive we work on the door where it sits: we don’t loan a counter or meet elsewhere. We pick, drill, or disassemble hardware depending on the failure, then fit a replacement cylinder, deadbolt, or lever that matches the door prep and backset. For reinforced doors we may replace the strike or add a longer-throw bolt. We drive out from Havertown and bring the common cylinder types and drive-in hardware needed to finish most jobs on site.

Good to know
While you wait, keep children and pets back from the work area and have a clear path to the door for our tools and cases. If keys are missing, check pockets, bags, and recent vehicle stops so we can decide whether to rekey or cut new blanks. If a lock was forced, take photos and move valuables out of immediate reach; we’ll document damage and talk through secure choices for the door and frame before starting work.

Worth knowing
Have a form of ID that matches the property name or lease, and, if you can, bring any remaining keys or lock cards with you. Note the lock type if you know it: deadbolt, knob lock, mortise, and whether there’s a keypad or electronic strike on the door. If the door is metal with a welded jamb or wood with long screws in the strike, tell us; those clues help us bring the right reinforcement parts. We serve Aldan and nearby areas including Clifton Heights and aim to handle the lock itself where it fails.
