What goes wrong
Keys break off, cylinders shear, and latch mechanisms warp; those are the things we see most when someone calls about an emergency in Collingdale. A frozen deadbolt, a key that won’t fully retract, or a snapped key head stuck down in the warding will keep a door from opening and worry anyone waiting on the other side. We focus on the mechanical problem first: what part of the lock is binding, whether the strike plate is spread, and whether the door itself has shifted so the bolt won’t align.

What the job involves
When we get to the job we treat it as a mechanical diagnosis. We check the cylinder, tailpiece, and bolt before trying non-destructive entry tools; picking, bypassing a latch, or using a plug spinner when appropriate. If a lock is visibly damaged we may need to remove the cylinder or the whole mortise assembly and replace it on site. We are a mobile service that drives out from Havertown and works at the lock itself, so there’s no counter waiting for you to come to.

Good to know
While you wait, secure the area and keep small children and pets clear of the immediate doorway. Have a clear path to the lock so we can set up without moving furniture. If the lock is on an alarmed door please tell us the system type and whether the panel is armed so we don’t trigger sirens. If someone else has a key or a code, call them; if not, have a current photo ID and anything that proves your connection to the property ready to show us before we start.

Worth knowing
If you can, take a photo of the keyed entry, the face of the cylinder, or the damaged key and send it when you call; that speeds the initial assessment. Also tell us the lock type: deadbolt, rim cylinder, mortise, or a knobset, and whether the door is metal, solid wood, or hollow. We cover Collingdale and nearby towns including Sharon Hill, and we’ll tell you honestly how soon we can come when you call so you know what to expect.
