What goes wrong
Commercial doors and hardware in a shop, office, or warehouse fail for the usual reasons: worn cylinder pins that shear, deadbolts with broken tailpieces, exit devices that no longer retract, and door closers that have lost their seals. We come out from Havertown for commercial calls and will work on the actual parts: replace a worn cylinder, rebuild a mortise mechanism, fit a long-throw deadbolt or swap a reinforced strike. If an electrified strike or a keypad feed is failing, we trace the wiring and test the power and fault points before fitting parts.

What the job involves
When a panic bar sticks or a pushpad fails, the job often means taking the device down, checking the mounting studs and the latch cam, and replacing worn drive cams, springs or dogging mechanisms. If a door frame is spread or a threshold worn, we check latch engagement and may fit a longer throw latch or a reinforced strike to get the door closing cleanly. We work on storefront aluminum, steel edge doors, and wood doors; we cut new keys, re-pin cylinders for master key systems, and get an entry device functioning again.

Good to know
While you wait, secure the area and keep employees away from a door that won’t latch or that opens unexpectedly. Have someone available who can confirm ownership or authority for the change, and gather any existing keys, cylinder codes, or door hardware paperwork you have. For access control fixes, have the site contact for any network passwords or door controller notes and a floor plan if the site has multiple controlled openings. On a call in Montgomery Township we’ll explain what needs changing and what parts we recommend.

Worth knowing
Commercial projects often involve staged work: door hardware replacement, master keying, or renovation tie-ins. We can re-pin a bank of cylinders to a new keying schedule, install or replace keypads and card readers, and set up mechanical master key hierarchies. Where heavy hardware is involved we check the strike and the frame, fit reinforcing plates or longer screws for push/pull points, and balance closers for proper latching. If you’re in Montgomery Township or nearby Montgomeryville we’ll describe the work and what you should have ready before we start.
