What goes wrong
Commercial doors in Folcroft and nearby offices fail in familiar ways: panic bars that stick, exit devices with worn latches, keypads that stop responding, and locks with broken cylinders or sheared keys. We see weathered strikes and door frames that no longer line up with the latch, which makes a solid deadbolt useless. For storefronts the usual trouble is a mortise lock with jammed internal parts or a rim cylinder that turns without moving the bolt. We describe what’s wrong so you know what we’ll work on.

What the job involves
When we arrive we assess the door, the lockset, the strike and any exposed hardware to decide how to fix it. Repairs range from cylinder extraction, rekeying, and replacing worn tails and cams, to fitting a new exit device or replacing a door closer and its mounting plate. For access control we test wiring, power supplies and the keypad or reader interface before swapping parts. If a master key system is involved we map pinning changes and update cylinders or cores to preserve keying logic.

Good to know
While you’re waiting for us to drive out from Havertown, secure the area for staff and customers and keep a clear approach to the door and control panels. If there’s an immediate egress problem leave alternate exits available and post a temporary notice at the affected entrance. For access-controlled doors have someone on hand who can confirm user lists and codes, or who can provide the master key or access credentials. That saves back-and-forth and lets us focus on the hardware when we arrive.

Worth knowing
Have the building key list, any existing cylinder cores, and the door hardware schedule or labels ready if you can; photos taken on a phone of the lock and strike are very helpful. Tell us whether the door is hollow metal, wooden, or aluminum and whether the frame is steel or wood so we know what fasteners we may need. If you have a service contract or an existing core chart, keep it accessible. We work on commercial hardware day to day in Folcroft and nearby Glenolden and tailor the repair to the actual parts on the door.
