What goes wrong
Commercial locks in offices, retail storefronts and warehouses fail in a few predictable ways: cylinders stick from heavy use, latchbolts shear on a kicked door, exit devices bind, and electric strikes or mag locks stop energizing. We come to your door and diagnose the actual part that failed rather than guessing from a description. We look at the cylinder type (rim, mortise or tubular) the bolt throw, the strike reinforcement and any evidence of wear or corrosion. In Norwood and nearby areas we bring the common replacement parts and the tools to cut or rekey on site.

What the job involves
When an exit device or panic bar isn't working, the first priority is restoring a secure but functioning egress. We check the push bar alignment, the dogging, the linkage to the latch, and the strike pocket for deformation. If a door closer is out of adjustment we examine the arm, the seal and the shoe and whether the closer body has lost fluid. For electric hardware we test voltage at the device and trace the feed back to the control. We carry spares for standard commercial hardware and make repairs where the metal and fasteners allow.

Good to know
If you call us from a Norwood office or a shop in Prospect Park, have a decision-maker on hand and any keys or keycard credentials available. We will need a clear view of the door edge and frame, and a quick description of what happened, whether the door was forced, whether the lock stuck when turning, or whether an access control reader shows no lights. Photographs sent before we arrive speed the diagnosis. If you have a maintenance closet or lock box for spare keys, tell us where it is so access is straightforward.

Worth knowing
We handle master keying, rekeying, keypad and access control troubleshooting, and replacement of heavy-duty padlocks, rim and mortise cylinders, and storefront hardware. We travel from Havertown to the job; every repair or installation happens at the lock. You should have authorization to approve replacement hardware and, when relevant, the building manager or tenant contact ready to sign off. We cut and code keys on site when possible and label master systems clearly so future service is simpler for you and for us.
