What goes wrong
We handle the common failures that stop a business from opening or securing a space. We see jammed exit devices with bent latches, cylinders with snapped keys, mortise locks with worn cams, electric strikes with burned contacts, and panic bars that fail to retract. Access control panels can lose power or refuse prox cards, and mechanical master key cores get mixed up after tenant turnover. In Darby Township offices and storefronts we focus on identifying the exact mechanical fault so the door can be used again without guesswork.

What the job involves
On site we start with a hands-on diagnosis: remove trim, inspect the cylinder and tailpiece, check the strike and latch alignment, and test the door closer and hinge swing. If an access control keypad or electric strike is involved we check wiring and power first, then isolate the control board. We carry common cylinders, cores, and strike hardware and drive out from Havertown with tools for cylinder extraction, rekeying, core swaps, and strike reinforcement so the repair happens at the door, not back at a shop.
03
Good to know
While we work you should keep staff clear of the doorway, use an alternate entry if one is available, and avoid forcing bolts or trying multiple keys that could break inside a cylinder. Have your manager or the person authorized to approve changes on site or reachable by phone. If the lock controls an alarm or alarm company monitoring, let us know so we can coordinate. If a door controls a public exit, post temporary signage and keep egress routes obvious while we replace or adjust hardware.
04
Worth knowing
To speed the job, have any available keys, key cards, or old cylinders ready, plus photos of the door and the lock face if you can take them before we arrive. Note the handing of the door, whether it’s metal, wood, or aluminum, and whether the strike sits in a frame with a reinforced plate. Bring the master key list or an authorized signature for core changes, tenant contact info, and the building name and suite number in Darby Township or nearby Glenolden. We come to you for every job; there is no counter or shop to visit, every task happens where the lock is.
