What goes wrong
Commercial buildings bring a different set of lock problems than houses. We see deadbolts with long throws jammed by warped frames, exit devices with broken latches, and panic bars that stop retracting because the internal dogging has worn out. Keyed cylinders can shear where high-use doors meet heavy traffic, and reinforced strikes can pull away from rotten wood or poorly anchored metal. For jobs in Blue Bell we inspect the door and hardware to identify the weak point (the cylinder, the bolt, the strike, or the door closer) and decide what must be repaired or replaced to restore reliable operation.

What the job involves
When we arrive we bring the tools and parts needed to work on commercial hardware: cylinder pullers, spindle extractors, heavy-duty replacement cylinders, strike reinforcement plates, and components for exit devices and door closers. We drive out from Havertown and set up at the door so the work happens where the lock is. We cut and code keys on site when a master key system needs expansion or when keyed entry requires spare cylinders. For access control issues we check the keypad, wiring at the door, and the lock or electric strike that the controller operates.

Good to know
While we are on the way, please secure the area and keep staff or customers out of the immediate door swing. If the door is between a public area and a secured area, move sensitive items away from the entrance and gather any existing keys, key cards, or key lists so we can verify what works and what does not. If the door is part of a suite that uses a master key system, have a plan for rekeying or temporary access for staff so you can continue operations with minimal disruption. We will tell you what we need when we arrive.

Worth knowing
For preventive work and upgrades we can fit reinforced strikes, replace worn cylinders, service exit devices and panic bars, adjust or replace door closers, and extend master key systems or install keypads and electric strikes. We describe the fix in plain terms: replace a sheared cylinder, swap a failing panic bar mechanism, reinforce a pulled strike, or add a keyed cylinder to an existing lock. In nearby Ambler or Whitpain Township offices we follow the same approach: diagnose the failing part, discuss options, and proceed with the repair or replacement at the door.
