What goes wrong
Cars lock for a handful of common reasons: keys left inside, a key broken off in the cylinder, a dead key fob battery, jammed door linkages or a stuck trunk latch. Sometimes the mechanical linkage behind the door pulls free and the handle moves but the lock doesn't; other times the lock cylinder itself is worn or frozen. In Spring Mount we see the same mix of failures as elsewhere (electronic and mechanical), and when you call we’ll tell you the earliest we can get to you so you can decide how to wait.

What the job involves
When we arrive we assess what’s actually stopping the door from opening and choose the least invasive method. For cars with removable trim we use long-reach tools to actuate the interior latch; for exposed cylinders we pick or decode the lock and extract snapped key metal. If the key fob won’t work we check its battery and, if needed, use diagnostic gear to confirm programming. We load the vans with hand tools, slim wedges, lock picks, long-reach arms and on-board key-cutting and programming equipment, and we drive out from Havertown.

Good to know
While you wait it helps to have certain things ready and to stay safe out of traffic. Sit where you can see the vehicle and keep your phone on; locate the vehicle registration and bring a photo ID so we can confirm ownership before we begin. If you have a spare key, a fob, or a code tag from the dealer, have those within reach.

Worth knowing
We handle broken cylinders, pulled ignitions, lost keys and dead fobs on-site and can usually cut a new mechanical key or program a replacement fob from the van. Tell us the make, model, year and color of the car and (if you have it) the VIN or key tag code; that speeds identification of blanks and transponder types. We work across Montgomery County including Spring Mount and nearby towns such as Schwenksville, and we bring parts and tools that let us repair or replace locks without making you go anywhere.
