I bought a keypad for my front door in West Philadelphia, so can you put it on the door I already have?
Fitting a keypad or smart lock, we mount the unit to your existing door, make sure the bolt aligns with the strike, and program or pair the lock with you on site so you leave with it working. If you’ve already bought the lock, have the whole set of parts, the battery, and any instructions or codes handy so we can finish the setup.
The deadbolt on my apartment door sticks and only locks when I push the door, what do you do about that?
Adjusting the strike or the bolt, we check how the door sits in the frame and realign the strike plate or the bolt so the latch enters smoothly; we also inspect the cylinder and replace a worn one if needed. Until we get there, treat the key gently and don’t spray oil into the lock; that can attract grit and make things worse.
A burglar tried to force my door and damaged the lock, so can you get it locking properly again?
When the attempt is recent, the police come first; the door should stay as it is until they have finished. Replacing the damaged cylinder or complete lock, we remove the broken parts and install a new cylinder or lock body, and repair or reinforce the strike so the bolt seats solidly. Have the damaged hardware in place if you can; also note any sticking, splintering, or loose screws at the jamb so we can address those when we work.
My old wooden door still has the original lock and the key is starting to feel loose and sticky, can that be fixed?
Servicing an original mortise set, we take the lock apart, clean and lubricate the internal parts, tighten loose fasteners, and replace worn components; if it’s beyond service we fit a replacement that matches the door and avoid new holes when possible. Be ready to show the symptoms (sticking, a loose knob, or a stiff key) and keep the door closed but unlocked.
