What people call about
People call us in Overbrook for the usual spectrum of lock and key problems: jammed deadbolts, broken key extraction, cylinder swaps, rekeying after a move, and emergency lockouts for homes and cars. We handle residential locksmith jobs and emergency locksmith situations, and we respond to car lockout and car key replacement requests. On older wooden doors we often replace worn latch faces and adjust strike plates; on newer metal doors we focus on aligning heavy-duty deadbolts and replacing failed cylinders. If a key head has sheared or a lock won’t turn, we bring the tools and parts to remove and repair the problem on site.

The buildings and the hardware
Buildings here present a mix of lock conditions. Many homes have original mortise hardware or old bore locks that were installed decades ago; those parts wear differently from modern bored cylindrical locks. Rowhouses and older semi-detached homes often have narrow stile doors with thin, stamped strike reinforcements that need beefing up to work with current deadbolts. Apartment entry doors and storefronts more commonly use bored cylindrical locks, commercial grade levers, or exit devices, so we keep cylinders, thumbturns, and replacement trim ready. The age and type of door change whether the fix is a cylinder swap, a new faceplate and strike, or replacement of the latch mechanism.

The car side
On the car side we do lockouts and car key replacement for a wide range of makes and model years. Older vehicles use mechanical keys and simple wafer or blade cuts that we can duplicate and cut on site. Modern cars add transponder chips, remote fobs, and proximity keys that require programming; in those cases we supply programmed transponder keys and fobs engineered to match the vehicle’s immobilizer system or reprogram a replacement remote. We also extract broken blades, repair damaged ignition cylinders, and pair replacement remotes so the car will accept the new key. Tell us the make, model, and year and we’ll explain the technical needs.

How we work
We operate as a mobile-only locksmith service: there’s no storefront or counter, and every job takes place at the door, car, or property where the lock is installed. When you call we explain honestly how the visit will work and give a straightforward estimate of how soon a technician can be on site; we don’t promise an arrival window we can’t keep. Tradesmen arrive with the van stocked with cylinders, cut blanks, key programming tools, extraction kits, and common hardware so most repairs and replacements get done at the location. If a part must be ordered, we’ll explain that and leave the lock secure until it’s fitted.
