The buildings and the hardware
The local housing stock means we see a lot of older doors with older hardware. Where homes still have mortise locks or rim cylinders we deal with deeper pockets, different strike plates, and parts that aren’t the same as modern bored locks; those installs require careful measuring, new strikes, and sometimes refitting the door edge. Multi-unit buildings and smaller storefronts bring different needs: keyed-alike suites, master-key considerations, and exit hardware that must meet a code-style function. In short, the door’s age and type determine whether we repair, convert, or replace hardware, and we work to match the mechanical standards already on the door.
