The buildings and the hardware
The built environment around Brookhaven changes what goes on the job: many properties have older wood doors with mortise or older cylindrical locks that need different parts than modern prep doors, while duplexes and small multifamily buildings often use simpler latch-and-deadbolt setups that have been changed piecemeal over the years. Storefronts and commercial entries use heavier metal hardware, panic bars, and reinforced frames, which require different tools and replacement parts. Older doors often need new strike plates, longer screws, or rebated frames to make a modern deadbolt effective; newer doors may call for different drilling patterns and electronic lock mounting.
