What goes wrong
Homes call us when keys break off in a cylinder, when a deadbolt jams, or when a latch no longer lines up with the strike because the door has sagged. We see stripped cylinders, worn pin stacks that rekey poorly, broken springs in knob mechanisms, and sliding-door rollers that let the lock slip past its keeper. In Valley Township we replace cores, swap out whole locksets, and repair the metal work (reinforcing the strike or fitting a longer throw bolt) so the hardware actually works with the door.

What the job involves
When we come out from Havertown we bring pinning kits, cylinder removers, extractor tools, replacement thumbturns, and a selection of solid deadbolts and forged knobs. We can rekey a house to one key by changing the pins in the cylinder, or install a new cylinder where the old one is beyond repair. We work on split-spindle knobs, mortise locks, rim locks, and surface-mounted bolts, and we adjust and file strikes so bolts seat cleanly into the jamb.

Good to know
While you wait at the house, give us a clear path to the entrance and keep children and pets away from the work area. It helps if you can show which keys go to which locks, and point out any problem that’s intermittent so we can reproduce it. If you can take a photo of the lock and the door edge, or tell us the brand stamped on the face of the cylinder, that saves time. Have ID and proof of residency ready if we need to confirm ownership before we begin.

Worth knowing
If you need to change who has access, we rekey whole sets and advise on hardening points: replacing thin strike plates with ones that take longer screws, swapping out short-throw latches for a deadbolt with a full throw, or adding a reinforced strike and heavy-duty screws. In Valley Township and nearby areas such as Sadsbury Township we also handle mailbox and garage locks, and we can fit anti-rotation collars on cylinders where the trim tends to twist. We drive to the lock, work where it sits, and leave it operating reliably.
