What goes wrong
We fix the common residential failures that stop a door from working the way it should: keys that stick in a pin tumbler, deadbolts with a bent tailpiece, knobs that spin without retracting the latch, and weather-swollen wooden doors whose bolt no longer meets the strike. In Spring City people call when the key turns but nothing happens, when a cylinder is full of grit, or when a locking mechanism grinds. We diagnose by looking at the cylinder, the tailpiece, the bolt and the strike, then decide whether to repair the mechanism in place, replace the cylinder, or fit a stronger strike and reinforcing plate.

What the job involves
When we come out from Havertown we bring a range of cylinders, mortise and tubular latch sets, deadbolts, and a selection of screwdriver, picks, extractors and rekeying tools so we can match what’s already in the door or swap in a different keyway. For many jobs we remove the lock and disassemble the cylinder to inspect pins and the plug; for a seized bolt we take the latch assembly apart, clean and lubricate, replace worn parts, or fit a longer throw bolt to reach a reinforced strike. We work on metal, wood and fiberglass doors and on sliding glass lock assemblies.

Good to know
With a child or a pet locked inside, call 911 first. If you have the original keys, separate any that are damaged or bent so we can see which ones failed; bring any manuals, installation templates, or prior invoices if you have them.

Worth knowing
To speed the job along have ready the current key set, a proof of residency or ownership and any door measurements you know, such as backset or thickness, if you’ve taken them; if not, we’ll measure on site. If the lock is part of a multi-point assembly, tell us so we can bring the right tools and parts. We also handle rekeys when you move into a new place near Royersford or in East Vincent Township, fit additional deadbolts, install reinforced strikes, and cut new house keys to match existing keyways so one key works multiple locks.
