What goes wrong
We handle locked cars in Spring City and the surrounding parts of Chester County. On car calls the common problems are keys locked inside, keys snapped in the ignition, electronic fobs that no longer wake the car, and trunks that refuse to release. We assess what type of lock or system the car has, an exposed cylinder, a flush-key slot, or a push-button/remote system; then choose an approach that avoids damage to the door, glass, or trim. We explain what we plan to do before we start.

What the job involves
We work on mechanical cylinders by using decoding and single-pin manipulation to re-create an operating key without drilling. For broken keys we extract metal fragments and either file a key on-site or cut a blank to the decoded profile. For cars with transponder chips or smart remotes we use programming equipment to match the vehicle’s immobilizer once we have physical access. Trunk releases and hatchbacks are handled with targeted access to avoid bending levers or breaking interior panels.

Good to know
We ask customers to stay near the vehicle, in a safe spot off traffic, and to have proof of ownership and photo ID available for verification. Having the vehicle make, model and year ready speeds identification of the lock type; knowing whether the car uses a metal key, a switchblade, or a fob helps us prepare mentally for which systems we’ll work on. If the fob has been acting up, check the battery and let us know; if a key is already broken, try to keep the pieces together for easier extraction.

Worth knowing
We come to jobs from our base in Havertown and operate entirely on-site around Spring City and nearby towns such as Royersford. We talk plainly about what parts might be needed (a new metal blade, a new head for a switchblade, or a replacement remote) and whether rekeying the cylinder is a sensible follow-up to prevent a repeat lockout. We leave doors, ignitions and trunks working the way they were intended: aligned latches, smooth cylinder rotation, and keys that insert and withdraw cleanly.
