What goes wrong
Locks in houses fail for predictable, mechanical reasons: a key that has worn thin, a cylinder full of grit, a deadbolt with a bent tailpiece, or a strike plate that's pulled away from the jamb. We see doorknobs whose spindle has sheared, multipoint locks with a stripped gear, and patio-slide locks where the pawl no longer catches. In Ridley Township we work on wooden doors, metal entries, and fiberglass storms, taking apart the cylinder and bolt to find the broken parts, then deciding whether to repair the mechanism or swap in a solid replacement.

What the job involves
When we arrive we bring the tools and parts for residential hardware: pinning kits for rekeying, picks and plug followers for cylinder removal, replacement cylinders keyed to your existing key, longer throws for deadbolts, and reinforced strikes for high-traffic doors. We work at the door; there is no shop counter. If the lock is beyond repair we remove the old cylinder or latch and fit a new one that matches the door prep, cutting or drilling only as needed so the door closes and locks cleanly.

Good to know
If you call from Ridley Township, let us know which door you mean and whether you have a working key for it. While you wait, move inside if the weather is poor and clear a workspace at the door: remove hanging coats or bags that block access, bring any spare keys or photos of the lock if you have them, and keep small children and pets away from the swing of the door. If the door is forced or the strike is pulled out, secure any loose screws and tape glass for safety until we arrive.

Worth knowing
We drive out from Havertown with the mobile kit suited to homes across Delaware County and nearby places such as Ridley Park and Woodlyn. For lockouts we try non-destructive entry first, using picks or an appropriate bypass for the hardware; for rekeys we change the pins to match your existing key; for installations we fit a new cylinder or deadbolt, align the strike, and test dozens of cycles to make sure the bolt moves smoothly. Tell us which key system you use and where any spares are kept so we can finish the job efficiently.
