What goes wrong
We handle the kinds of residential lock problems that actually happen: broken keys stuck in deadbolts, warped doors that rub and prevent a latch from seating, cylinders that have been punched or frozen with debris, and front-door hardware with worn tumblers. We work on mortise locks, deadbolts, knobsets, and handle sets, and on the metal parts you can see and the mechanisms inside the door. If you call from Kennett Square we drive out from Havertown and tell you honestly how soon we can come. We bring the right blank keys, pinning kits, and pick tools for the hardware we expect to face.

What the job involves
When a key breaks or a lock jams, we expose the cylinder and check whether the plug is salvageable or needs replacement. That can mean extracting broken key fragments with picks and locking pliers, removing the cylinder from the door to bench-pin it, or swapping in a new cylinder or deadbolt tailpiece. For doors with frame or strike problems we adjust or replace the strike and reinforce the jamb with longer screws where the wood has split. We describe what we find and what parts will fix the failure before we start work.

Good to know
While you wait we recommend you stand clear of the working area, keep pets contained, and have photo ID and proof of residence ready so we can verify access. If you have a key for a secondary entrance, have it out and readable so we can test multiple locks. If you’ve recently moved, have any existing keycards, keypad codes, or garage remote information available. We carry common residential cylinders, multipin key blanks, and replacement screws and strikes, and we’ll tell you when a specific part needs to be ordered.

Worth knowing
For upgrades and changing keys we rekey cylinders so one key operates multiple locks or so old keys no longer work, and we install deadbolts with long-throw bolts and hardened strike plates when the door conditions call for them. We can fit keyless pushbutton locks and replace worn interior thumbturns and rose assemblies. If you’re in Kennett Township, East Marlborough Township, or back in Kennett Square and want keyed-alike door sets or a keyed master layout, we’ll explain the tradeoffs of cylinder types and show the physical differences (solid forged bolts, splined tailpieces, and reinforced strikes), so you understand what we’re installing.
