What goes wrong
Houses in Graduate Hospital bring a familiar set of lock problems: a deadbolt that no longer throws fully because the strike is worn or the door has shifted, keys that bind in a cylinder, a knob that spins on a hollow spindle, or a key snapped off in the lock. We drive out from Havertown to work on those specific failures. We focus on what’s actually wrong with the metal and moving parts (worn pin stacks, corroded tails, stripped screws) so the repair addresses the mechanism, not just the symptom.

What the job involves
When we work on a residence we start with a hands-on check of the lock and door fit. We extract broken keys, remove and inspect cylinders, and re-pin or replace cylinder cores as needed. If a deadbolt needs replacement we fit a bolt with a longer throw and install a reinforced strike or adjust the frame. For electronic locks we replace batteries and reprogram keypads on site. We cut backup keys where the profile is present and avoid unnecessary drilling unless the hardware is seized beyond recovery.

Good to know
While you wait it helps to give us a clear path to the door and to keep children and pets away from the work area. If the property has an alarm, please tell us how to disarm it or show the control panel; if you’re renting have the property manager’s contact ready. Have the keys you think belong to the problematic lock available so we can test every related keyway. We’ll explain the problem and your options before making permanent changes to the lock.

Worth knowing
Prepare the door area for service by clearing furniture or debris that blocks access and by having any existing installation instructions or manuals for smart locks handy. Note the handing of the door and whether the strike is mortised or surface-mounted, and bring any old hardware you removed for comparison. Remember we’re a mobile service with no counter or shop: every job happens where the lock is, whether in Graduate Hospital, Point Breeze, University City or elsewhere in Philadelphia. We handle the parts of the job that require metalwork, keying and precise alignment.
