What goes wrong
We handle calls where a key snaps in a cylinder, a deadbolt jams, a latch won’t retract, or a mortise lock sticks after years of paint and dirt buildup. We work on conventional knobsets and lever handles as well as push-button and electronic keypad locks. Often the visible problem is a bent tailpiece, a broken tailpiece, or a bolt that won’t extend because the strike plate is loose or the frame has shifted. In New London Township we see all of these failure modes and the same practical fixes apply.

What the job involves
When we arrive at an emergency on a residence or business we assess the mechanism and pick the least destructive path. That might mean extracting a broken key, aligning a reinforced strike, rekeying a rim cylinder, or removing a seized lock to service the internal cam and springs. For electronic or keypad units we check batteries and wiring, and for smart locks we look at the mounting and the deadbolt interface. We always explain the mechanical steps so you know what we will do to make the door operable again.

Good to know
While you wait we suggest a few simple precautions: keep yourself and anyone vulnerable away from a street-facing door, don’t try to force the lock with tools you don’t know how to use, and if a key is stuck don’t twist it back and forth; that makes extraction harder. If the problem involves an electronic unit, turning off power at a safe point can prevent further damage. We come out from Havertown in our mobile van with the tools we need and a selection of cylinders and bolts for common fixes.

Worth knowing
Have these items ready when we arrive to speed repair: the key or remaining fragments, a driver’s license or other ID showing your connection to the property, and any packaging, manuals or photos of the lock or keypad model. If the door is metal or solid wood tell us the door hand and whether the strike is reinforced; if a mortise box is exposed, a picture helps. We work across New London Township and nearby areas, and we’ll talk you through what to hold onto and what to hand over so the job proceeds smoothly.
