What goes wrong
Doors jammed shut, keys broken off in cylinders, electronic deadbolts gone dark, or a latch that no longer lines up with a warped frame; those are the emergency jobs we handle in Caln Township. We travel from Havertown with mobile tools and a selection of cylinders, bolts, strike plates and replacement keys. We cut and decode keys on site when required, extract broken key pieces, and if a lock is damaged beyond repair we fit a solid replacement and align a reinforced strike so the bolt throws cleanly into the jamb.

What the job involves
When we get a call about an emergency, we explain what we can do over the phone and tell you how soon we can come. Once on site we assess the mechanism: whether it’s a rim cylinder, mortise lock, tubular deadbolt, keypad assembly or an electronic unit. We pick methods that leave the door and frame intact whenever possible, picking, decoding, replacing tailpieces, or drilling out a seized cylinder only when non-destructive options aren’t practical. We also check for a long-throw bolt or latch that’s causing the fault and correct the strike.

Good to know
If a child, a pet or anyone who needs help is inside, phone 911 first, then us. Tell us if keys are lost versus broken inside, and whether the door has internal thumbturns, glass sidelights, or a chained latch so we don’t perform a procedure that risks injury. We never ask you to force the door; we’ll explain the next steps and what we need to proceed when we arrive.

Worth knowing
Have photo ID and some proof that you live at or control the property ready when we get there, along with any spare keys or a previous photo of the lock if you have one. If a key snapped in the cylinder, note which part of the key is missing and whether the head came off; that helps us choose extraction tools. If you’re in Caln Township and called from nearby Thorndale, East Brandywine Township, Coatesville or Modena, mention that so we know local details. We handle the mechanical and electronic parts on site and leave you with the functional lock and, when needed, a freshly cut or programmed key.
