What goes wrong
Commercial locks fail in a handful of predictable ways. Exit devices stick or have broken latches, mortise cylinders seize, padlocks shear on gates, and electronic keypads stop recognizing codes when wiring or power fails. Door closers get out of adjustment so doors won't latch cleanly and strikes pull away from the frame under heavy use. We diagnose the physical fault first (seized cylinder, worn tailpiece, bent latch, loose mounting) so the repair is the right one. We see this in storefronts and small offices across Abington Township and beyond.

What the job involves
On site the job is hands-on and practical. We take the trim off, check tailpieces and boltwork, measure backset and door thickness, test the strike and the frame reveal, and examine the access control wiring or keypad battery and connections. If rekeying is the task we remove the cylinder, change the pinning, and test with the new key. If a keypad or controller needs programming we connect to power and set codes. When you call we tell you how soon we can come; we drive out from Havertown and work at the door where the problem is.

Good to know
While we work there are simple things a business can do to keep customers and staff safe. Keep the affected door closed and, if it needs to stay open, post a clear temporary sign and rope off the area. Have someone on hand who can confirm ownership or authorization and who knows which keys or keycodes are in use. If the job involves an electric strike or access-control panel, put someone with knowledge of the building’s power and IT nearby so we can check connections without delay. We often do commercial work in Abington Township offices and nearby shops.

Worth knowing
Before we arrive gather what matters: a list of keys in the system, any master-keying notes you already have, photos of the lock and the door edge, and the door hand and thickness. If you have a keycard or keypad code list, have that available along with a purchase order or written authorization for the work. Tell us if the door has a reinforced strike, a long-throw deadbolt, an exit device, or a surface-mounted closer so we bring compatible parts. We also serve businesses in places like Jenkintown and will match the hardware to the actual door on site.
