What goes wrong
Cars get locked by simple mistakes and by worn hardware. We see keys left on the seat with the doors locked, fobs that stop transmitting, ignition keys that snap in the cylinder and trunks that latch with the wrong sequence. In Westtown Township owners call us when a key blade shears, when a plastic head breaks off, or when a power lock actuator fails and doors won’t respond. We drive out from Havertown with the tools and cutting gear we need to work on most makes and models we encounter across Chester County.

What the job involves
The work starts with a hands-on inspection of the problem: is the blade intact, is the cylinder seized, is the power lock simply not getting voltage, or is the keyless system ignoring commands. We aim to use non-destructive methods first, so we manipulate latches and linkages, decode basic mechanical cuts, and operate actuators from access points that avoid damaging trim. If a key has broken in the cylinder we extract the fragment and test the tumblers; if a fob needs reprogramming we use on-board tools carried with us rather than taking parts away.

Good to know
While we work, the safest thing for you to do is keep clear of the immediate work area and have the vehicle registration and a photo ID ready so we can confirm ownership before we start. If you have a spare key or a second fob, bring it out; if the key is inside the car and the windows are closed don’t try to break glass. If you’re in Westtown Township and parked on a busy road, position yourself where you and we can get out of traffic, or wait in a nearby vehicle or building until we arrive.

Worth knowing
Tell us the make, model and year of the vehicle and whether the key is a traditional blade, a laser-cut key, or a fob-only remote. If a key is broken, the location of the break and whether you still have the tip helps us decide whether to extract or duplicate on site. We carry key blanks, cutting gear and tools to program many fobs and to rekey or replace cylinders, and we’ll explain what we can do for your specific lock before we begin. If you’re near West Chester or Thornbury Township and need the same work, we handle those calls the same way.
