The buildings and the hardware
The housing stock here affects the hardware we see. Many doors are original or older replacements, so mortise locks, surface-mounted rim cylinders, and three-point latches turn up alongside modern bored locks and tubular deadbolts. Apartment buildings often use master-keyed systems or keyed-alike suites, which means rekeying multiple cylinders to a single key rather than swapping every lock. Storefronts and ground-floor units sometimes have heavier commercial cylinders and metal doors that need different fasteners and longer screws. That mix means we bring a range of cylinders, trim, and conversion kits to match whatever’s already in the door.
