What goes wrong
We handle the most common emergency lock problems: a snapped key stuck in a cylinder, a deadbolt that no longer throws because the bolt binders or strike plate have shifted, a jammed latch after a door warps, and electronic fob or keypad failures that leave a door unresponsive. We diagnose whether the issue is mechanical (worn pins, a seized tailpiece, a broken cam) or electrical, then decide if the lock can be serviced on the spot or needs a replacement. We have worked on door hardware of all ages and styles in Highland Township and across Chester County.

What the job involves
When we work on an emergency job we start with a quick inspection to identify how the lock is failing and what tools and parts are required. We pick or bypass where possible to avoid disturbing trim, extract broken keys with carbide tools, replace damaged cylinders, and refit or install a reinforced strike or longer throw deadbolt when the frame needs it. We can rekey a lock, cut a new key from the lock, and program or replace keypad modules and keyfobs. We drive out from Havertown with the truck stocked for these tasks.

Good to know
While you wait, the most useful things you can do are confirm ownership or authorization for the property, clear the working area of children and pets, and have a light source and a phone handy so we can consult about options. If there’s paperwork for a commercial job or gate code for a keypad-controlled entry, have that ready. Note the type of lock or take a photo if you can; a picture of the cylinder face, latch, or keypad helps us identify parts. We will tell you what we need when we speak.

Worth knowing
We aim to leave the door functioning and as secure as it was before the problem, or better if parts were failing. We test the latch, deadbolt throw, and the operation of any electronic lock after installation, and we’ll show you how it works before we pack up. If a replacement part is advisable we carry common cylinders and key blanks on the truck and explain the trade-offs between a repaired lock and installing a new, solid or forged deadbolt with a reinforced strike. We serve Highland Township and surrounding areas including Parkesburg.
