What goes wrong
Keys break, bolts jam, and weather or wear can seize parts so a simple turn no longer opens a door. In Eddystone we handle snapped keys in cylinders, deadbolts with bent or broken throws, latch mechanisms that no longer engage the reinforced strike, and knob or lever sets that spin without moving the latch. We also deal with doors that swell or sag and with mail slot or gate hardware that fails. Most emergency calls are about getting the opening to move again without causing needless damage.

What the job involves
On arrival we assess the lock and the door hardware to decide the least destructive way to get you back inside. That may mean picking the lock, extracting a broken key, changing out the cylinder, rekeying a whole set, or repairing the strike and latch so the bolt seats properly. We carry common cylinders, deadbolts, thumbturns and reinforced plates and work with mortise and tubular devices. When you call we explain how soon we can come and what we think the job will require.

Good to know
While you wait, put safety first: lock other doors, keep children and pets away from the entry, and stand where you can see and talk with us when we arrive. Look for any spare key you may have given to a neighbor or left inside a lockbox and have identification ready if you are the owner or authorized occupant. If the lock is on a business keep alarm codes or keyholder contact info nearby. Staying calm and in a well-lit spot makes the actual work smoother.

Worth knowing
Have what we need ready to speed the repair: any spare keys, the make and model of the vehicle if it's an automotive lock issue, and any documentation that shows you control the property. If you have a particular cylinder or finish you want replaced, bring a photo or the old part so we can match it. We drive out from Havertown and service the Eddystone area and nearby communities; tell us what type of door, whether the bolt is reinforced, and whether there are double cylinders or special hardware so we come prepared to fix it properly.
