What goes wrong
We handle commercial lock problems that show up in offices, storefronts and light industrial doors across Woodlyn and the surrounding area. Common failures are shear at the keyway from heavy use, broken tailpieces, worn tumblers that stick, and door hardware misalignment that keeps exit devices from latching. We replace cylinders, rebuild mortise locks, swap out latch assemblies and fit reinforced strikes for doors that pound open. When a keyed lock is damaged, we can extract the core and install a new plug or a whole cylinder depending on how the mechanism looks.

What the job involves
When a panic bar or exit device jams or the bar won’t retract cleanly, the work is hands-on: we remove the device, inspect the bar, rollers and latch, grease the mechanism where metal runs on metal, and replace worn shoes, cams or rods. For access control and keypads we check the wiring and power feed, test the relay and door release, and replace failed readers or solenoids. If a door closer is leaking or the arm is bent we swap the closer body and adjust sweep and latch speeds until the door seats correctly on the strike.

Good to know
While we’re coming out from Havertown, you can help the job go smoother by having someone on site who can authorize the work and show us the affected doors and keys. Clear the area around the door so we have room to set tools and parts down; for heavy doors a second person to hold the leaf can be useful. If you have master keying plans, door schedules, or existing keying charts, have those available. If the entry is secured by an alarm, let us know the disarm code or arrange to have the panel accessible.

Worth knowing
We do a lot of system work for businesses in small storefronts and multi-door offices, including master keys, restricted-key cylinders, and retrofit kits for older mortise cases. For tenant turnovers we rekey cores or fit new cores and document which keys fit which doors. We also replace or reinforce panic devices and strikes where repeated kicking or slamming has opened up the frame. If you’re in Ridley Park or down the line in Woodlyn and need commercial hardware replaced or repaired, we’ll drive out, assess the actual parts, and get the hardware functioning as designed.
