What goes wrong
We work on commercial doors and hardware that fail under daily use: exit devices and panic bars that bind, cylindrical and mortise cylinders that shear or jam, electric strikes that lose adjustment, keypad readers that stop communicating, and master key systems that drift out of tolerance. We travel from Havertown to Stowe and other nearby towns to diagnose what is actually wrong (broken tailpieces, worn cam gaps, bent latch assemblies, loose strikes, failed solenoids) and decide whether repair, partial replacement, or swapping a core is the practical fix.

What the job involves
A typical job begins with a hands-on inspection to see how the door moves, how the latch engages, and how any electrified hardware responds to power and commands. We remove trim and cylinders where needed, bench-test cores on location, solder or splice wiring for access control, cut and code new keys, and fit stronger strikes or reinforced plates when the frame shows compression. We adjust closers and latches so the door makes solid contact and the bolt or latch throws fully; these are the mechanical details that stop repeat service calls.
03
Good to know
While we work, keep staff and customers away from the affected opening and set up an alternate route or temporary sign so people don’t try the door. If the lock controls access to a retail area or a suite, have a designated keyholder or manager available to confirm access rights and to unlock adjacent doors if needed. Don’t force a stuck cylinder or lever; that risks breaking a key or tearing a latch. If there’s an alarm panel involved, let the alarm company and building manager know we are on site so false alarms do not complicate the job.
04
Worth knowing
To speed the process, have anything you already have for the door ready: existing keys, any master key lists, keypad or controller serial numbers, photos of the trim and strike, and the building contact who can sign for work. For electrified hardware, arrange for someone who can switch power if we need to test solenoids or readers. We handle master key changes, retrofit electrified strikes, replace worn mortise cylinders, and install or troubleshoot access-control equipment for businesses in Stowe and across Delaware, Chester, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties, including directions from Havertown when we drive out.
