What goes wrong
Commercial properties call us when doors jam, cylinders shear, or keys fold off in the lock. We handle stuck mortise locks, worn cylinder tails, and latchwork that no longer meets the door stop. On storefront aluminum doors we inspect and replace hardened latches and reinforced strikes; on heavy metal doors we check long-throw bolts and deadbolts for binding. In Lower Gwynedd Township we see a lot of exit devices with bent cams and panic bars that need realignment so the bar retracts smoothly and the latch engages fully.

What the job involves
Many commercial customers need access control work: keypad units that stop recognizing codes, electric strikes that fail to retract, or card readers that lose power. We can wire or retrofit a controller, replace worn solenoids, and mount a new keypad or reader so it sits square to the door. For master key systems we re-pin cylinders, check keying hierarchies, and verify that subordinate cores operate together without binding. When we drive out from Havertown we bring a range of cylinders and common keypad models so we can match what’s already installed.

Good to know
If you’re waiting for us on a commercial call, secure hazardous areas and post temporary signage for employees and customers. Turn off alarm zones or notify your security provider so we can work without tripping a panel. Have key control documents, core numbers, or code lists ready if you use a master key system or keypad. If an employee was using a key, keep that key separate and hand it to us; if a panic bar failed, clear the egress route and make sure no one props the door closed while we work on the panic device or latch assembly.

Worth knowing
Typical jobs include replacing door closers with units of correct power and arm type, cutting and installing new mortised or rim cylinders, and fitting reinforced plates and heavy-duty strikes to stop recurring frame damage. We adjust faceplates and replace worn strike boxes so the bolt doesn’t ride the jamb. For electronic openings we check power supplies, grounding, and cable terminations at the strike or mag lock. Several businesses in and around Lower Gwynedd Township and nearby Ambler rely on us to come to their door, assess the hardware, and perform the mechanical or electrical repair needed.
