What goes wrong
Locked keys and failing key fobs are the usual reasons people call us for a car lockout in Center City. You can also lose access when a key snaps in a mechanical door lock, when a trunk latch jams, or when an ignition cylinder binds and won’t accept a key. We travel from Havertown to work at the vehicle (there’s no counter to visit), and we focus on understanding what’s wrong with the door, trunk or ignition before choosing a method to get you back inside.

What the job involves
If anyone is locked inside the car, a child or a pet included, call 911 first. After that, we assess whether a non-destructive entry is possible: check door gaps, test the fob and battery, inspect the exposed portion of a broken key, and look at linkage access behind the interior panels if needed. Our tools include long-reach tools, controlled wedges, and precision extractors for broken blades; when panels must come off we work carefully to avoid bending trim or breaking clips.

Good to know
While you wait, stay nearby if it’s safe and keep the area clear so we can work without interference. Have the vehicle registration and a photo ID available so we can confirm ownership before starting. Tell us the vehicle make, model, year and whether it has a push-button start or a keyed ignition; that information speeds diagnosis. Don’t try to force a lock, pry at the door with household tools, or break glass; those choices turn a simple entry into a repair job.

Worth knowing
We handle standard cars, SUVs and light trucks across Philadelphia and surrounding counties and drive to the vehicle from our Havertown base. If a key blade is broken, bring any pieces you have; if it’s a fob, let us know whether the battery was recently changed. Because we do every job at the lock itself, we’ll work from the scene and advise you about any follow-on repairs needed, such as cylinder extraction, ignition service or replacing a damaged striker or latch.
