The buildings and the hardware
Houses and buildings in the township tend to put a mix of older doors and newer replacements in front of a locksmith. You’ll see heavy solid-wood exterior doors on older homes with mortise locks or rim locks, plus modern fiberglass or steel doors fitted with cylindrical deadbolts. Apartment buildings and small storefronts more often use commercial-grade cylindrical locks and panic hardware, which requires different tools and replacement parts than household locks. That variety means we carry parts and know how to adapt strike plates, cut keys for older keyways, and match spindle sizes so hardware performs correctly after we leave.
