The buildings and the hardware
The mix of housing and small commercial spaces affects the hardware we see. You can expect older doors with mortise locks and heavy wooden frames next to newer pre-hung doors with bored cylindrical locks; apartment buildings tend to have keyed-alike systems or master-key setups, while storefronts use exit devices and aluminum storefront locks that wear differently. That variety matters for parts and technique: mortise locks need different-sized faceplates and screw patterns, while bored cylindrical locks swap into standard holes. We bring blank cylinders, different deadbolt sizes, and the gaskets and trim parts for both residential and small commercial work.
