What goes wrong
Locks at home fail in a few predictable ways: a key snaps in a cylinder, a deadbolt’s tailpiece shears, a knob set jams from rusted internal parts, or a multi-point latch misaligns and won’t retract. We see warped doors that pull the strike out of line, hardened exterior cylinders that have been worn by abrasive grit, and old mortise locks with broken levers. In Clifton Heights we diagnose the component that’s actually binding or broken, not just the symptom, so the fix replaces the worn element or adjusts the door and strike rather than repeatedly forcing a key.

What the job involves
When we arrive we work on the hardware where it sits. We bring a range of cylinders, thumbturns, deadbolts, replacement screws, longer bolts and reinforced strikes, plus the hand tools to extract a snapped key or dismantle a lock cylinder on the stoop. If a lock is being replaced we fit a new one to the existing bore or modify the opening cleanly, dress the edge and make sure the bolt has full throw into a reinforced strike. We drive out from Havertown and do the work at your door.

Good to know
While we work you should keep the immediate area clear and secure small children and pets away from tools and parts. If the door won’t lock, leave an alternative entry point secured or let us rekey a secondary door while we handle the main lock. Have the key or remaining broken pieces ready and, if applicable, the original lock or make and model information from the packaging or paperwork. In Clifton Heights it helps when you can point out any unusual door movement or previous repairs so we can target the root cause.

Worth knowing
We handle rekeys, single-cylinder and double-cylinder deadbolts, knob sets, lever handles, stranded key extraction and strike reinforcement. If you have a mailbox or padlock that uses a core we can remove and replace cores, and we change combinations on digital or mechanical keypad cylinders when access is available. If you live near Aldan or elsewhere in Delaware County we’ll work where the lock is: adjusting latch alignment, shortening or lengthening a throw, or swapping to a more robust cylinder and ensuring the door closes smoothly and secures properly.
