What goes wrong
Commercial doors in offices, retail storefronts, warehouses and medical suites fail in predictable ways: a latch that no longer retracts cleanly, a deadbolt that binds against a swollen frame, an exit device that drags on the strike, or a keypad that eats batteries and refuses to accept codes. We diagnose the mechanical problem first (check the bolt alignment, the strike reinforcement, the condition of the spindle and tailpiece, and whether the door closer is wrecking the latch) and then decide whether repair, parts replacement, or a tighter-fit strike and reinforced plate are the practical fix.

What the job involves
Many commercial calls involve access control and master key systems. We work on electric strikes, maglocks, request-to-exit sensors, keypads and the wiring that feeds them, as well as traditional keyed entries and rekeying for suites and tenant turnovers. We carry a selection of cylinders, deadbolts, exit bars and heavy-duty strikes to match solid or hollow metal doors and frames. For master key changes we map the pinning layout on site so replacements integrate with the existing key hierarchy without creating unintended cross-keys.

Good to know
While we’re on our way to a site in Havertown or a nearby business, customers should secure other entrances and tell front-desk staff, building management or employees which doors will be worked on. If access controls are tied to an alarm or building automation, let us know before we arrive so we can avoid tripping systems; in many cases we coordinate directly with whoever controls the panel. If a door is being held open by a wedge or propped by furniture, remove the temporary fix so we can see the real alignment and stresses on the hardware.

Worth knowing
Have the right information ready when we get there: which door or suite, whether the door is metal or wood, whether the frame is reinforced, and whether there is an existing master key system or electronic access controller. If keys exist, gather any labeled keys and the current code lists for keypad systems; if not, identify who is authorized to approve changes. We drive out from Havertown with tools and common replacement parts and work where the lock is, performing mechanical adjustments, cylinder swaps, strike reinforcement, exit device repairs and access-control troubleshooting on the job.
