What goes wrong
Commercial locks fail in straightforward ways: cylinder wear, broken key tails, seized bolts, or cams that shear off. On storefronts and office suites we see mortise locks with worn levers, exit devices with broken dogging mechanisms, keypad buttons that stop making contact, and strikes that have pulled away from the frame. When we work in Chadds Ford Township we diagnose the mechanical fault first, then decide whether to repair the existing cylinder, replace a core, rekey a pin stack, or fit a new heavy-duty latch or reinforced strike. We drive out from Havertown to the job site and bring the tools and blanks suited to commercial hardware.

What the job involves
A typical commercial call can involve through-bolted doors, metal frames, and multi-point latching, so we come prepared for cutting new keys, removing stubborn cylinders, or exchanging a shortened tailpiece. For exit devices and panic bar issues we check the spindle, keeper, and the dogging mechanism and then replace worn cams or realign the latch. For access control repairs we inspect the lock head, power supply, and door contacts, and we carry common keypad and prox modules so we can swap components on site. We work on storefronts, offices, warehouses and tenant suites.

Good to know
While you wait, secure the area that needs attention and clear furniture or stock away from the door so we can work safely. Have any master key lists, door schedules, or keypad code spreadsheets ready if the site uses a master or keyed-alike system; that saves us time in matching pinning or programming patterns. If access cards or fobs are lost, isolate them from the system if you can and note which employees need replacement badges. Should a child, a pet or anyone unwell be inside, call 911 first.

Worth knowing
For planning future work, think about which doors need heavy-duty hardware: doors with high traffic benefit from long-throw deadbolts, reinforced strikes, or closer arms rated for abuse, and tenant corridors often need consistent keying across multiple entrances. We install and adjust door closers, replace exit devices, rebuild or replace mortise cylinders, and set up master keying or keyed-alike groups based on the door schedule you provide. If you are in or near Chadds Ford Township, Pennsbury Township, or Thornbury Township, we will come prepared to assess the lock and explain the mechanical options so you can decide what to do next.
