What goes wrong
Cars lock out for a handful of simple, mechanical reasons. Keys get left in the cup holder or trunk, a fob battery dies and the remote stops unlocking, a blade snaps in the ignition or door, or the latch and striker become bent so the lock won't retract. Older vehicles can have stiff, worn tumbler pins; newer ones hide the mechanical lock behind trim or a reinforced plate. We diagnose whether the problem is a trapped key, a broken shank, an electronic fault, or a damaged catch before deciding how to proceed.

What the job involves
On a service call we start by identifying the make, model and the lock hardware we’re facing so we know what tools and blanks to bring. We carry picks and probe tools for mechanical cylinders, extraction tools for broken keys, and portable cutting machines to cut a replacement blade on site. For latch and striker damage we may remove the door panel to access the mech and realign or replace the failing parts. We also can rekey a cylinder or swap in a new one if the lock is worn or has been damaged.

Good to know
While we work, there are a few practical things customers can do to speed the process. Have your photo ID and the vehicle registration or title ready for verification, and if the key is inside the car point out where it is. If the key broke, keep the pieces you can find; if the fob stopped working, bring any spare fob or the battery packaging so we know its type.

Worth knowing
We operate as a mobile locksmith, driving out from Havertown to jobs across Delaware County, including Bethel Township and nearby Concord Township when needed. Because we don’t meet customers at a shop, every job happens where the lock is: in a driveway, parking lot or curbside. When you call tell us the vehicle’s year, make and model and exactly where you’re parked in Bethel Township so we bring compatible blanks and the right extraction tools. We handle the hardware, from cylinders and reinforced strikers to electronic fobs and broken key extraction.
