The buildings and the hardware
The building stock around here affects the hardware we see. Many properties are single-family houses with wood or fiberglass doors that sit in frames settled over decades, which leads to misaligned strikes, elongated mortise pockets, and latch wear rather than breakage of a cylinder. There are also small commercial storefronts and a handful of multiunit buildings; those use heavier deadbolts, commercial-grade lever locks, panic hardware, or master-keyed systems. That mix means we carry both residential cylinders and commercial mortise parts and fittings on the van.
