What goes wrong
We handle commercial lock problems across Upper Providence Township and surrounding areas, driving out from Havertown with the tools and parts a commercial job usually needs. Common failures are mechanical: worn cylinders, broken keys stuck in a cylinder, stripped tailpieces, seized deadbolts, or a panic bar that jams. We also see electronic issues: keypads that have dead batteries, card readers that lose programming, and door closers that fail to hold the door. When a door won’t latch or a strike is bent, the result is an unsecured opening or a door that won’t stay closed.

What the job involves
On arrival we start with a clear diagnosis rather than guessing. We remove trim and escutcheons to inspect the cylinder and tailpiece, extract broken keys, measure for replacement latches or deadbolts, and test exit devices and closers. If access control or keypads are involved we check battery compartments, backup power, and wiring at the lock. We can rekey cylinders, cut and code keys on site, swap in a new cylinder or replace a latch and strike assembly, and program or reset keypad codes where the hardware supports it.

Good to know
While we work, it helps if staff secure the area and use an alternate entrance if that’s available. We’ll need someone who can confirm authorization for the work and hand over any master or sub-master keys you keep on site. If the building uses powered locks or a card system, have the panel location and any current power sources identified. For jobs in Upper Providence Township it’s helpful to know in advance which doors are part of a master key system and which are standalone so we can avoid interrupting access to other parts of the facility.

Worth knowing
Before we begin, have whatever documentation you keep for the door hardware ready: existing key tags, hardware schedules, photographs of the door edge and strike, or part numbers from the lock body if visible. We can upgrade strikes to a reinforced model, replace a full-length reinforced plate, or add a deadbolt with a long-throw bolt where the door and frame allow. We also plan master key changes and layout replacements so you can phase work with minimal disruption. If you’re in Media or nearby townships and want to prepare, a quick inventory of doors and keys saves time when we arrive.
